How to play Barcelona Pickpocket
To play Barcelona Pickpocket, open the game in your browser, choose your character and press Play. In the solo story, your goal is to bank €10,000 and reach the frog above the church works. Begin with a nearby mark: move behind them, start a lift and stop the arrow in the green to take an item. Leave with your loot before the next attempt becomes too risky. If you get caught, escape the streamers by breaking their line of sight and leaving the search area. Return to the flat to bank your cash and buy upgrades. You can use keyboard and mouse on desktop or the on-screen controls on a phone.
The useful habit on a first run is knowing when to stop. A small bag brought home moves you forward; a full bag lost during a chase does not. This guide follows the solo game’s own rules, from your first pocket to the route back to the flat.
How do you start your first lift?
In Barcelona Pickpocket, look toward a nearby person until a marker shows your lock. Press E on desktop or tap LIFT on mobile. Your character closes in behind the mark and matches their pace before the bag opens.
The bag contains a row of locked cards. Stop the sweeping arrow in the green with E or STOP to open the next one. Stop outside the green and you are made: the opened items go back into the bag.
When should you walk away from a bag?
Every extra card in Barcelona Pickpocket has a narrower green and a faster arrow. Heat makes the timing tighter too. After a successful card, decide whether the next attempt is worth risking everything already open.
Press Q or tap WALK to leave the lift with the opened items. On an early run, taking a small win lets you learn the bank route before you have much to lose. The same key has a different action outside the lift, so follow the prompt on screen.
How do you escape the streamers?
Barcelona Pickpocket’s streamers hunt players they see stealing, and can respond when a mark catches you. While a streamer sees you, the chase continues. Running straight ahead is a poor plan because pursuers can run faster than you.
Use buildings to break their view, then leave the red search area unseen after the search has run for a while. More wanted stars bring a harder pursuit. The story about Barcelona’s streets and streamer chases explains why your route matters as much as your speed.
How do you keep your money and buy upgrades?
Cash carried by your character is at risk. The flat, marked in green on the map, is where you bank it. At the flat, press G on desktop or tap Bank on mobile. Banked cash cannot be taken.
The flat also offers Hands, Nerve and Shoes upgrades. Use the displayed controls to buy them. Those improvements help you take on harder marks and survive longer runs, while every purchase competes with your savings for the final objective.
What happens if you get caught?
When Barcelona Pickpocket’s pursuers reach you, they can hit you and reduce your health. If your health runs out, the run starts again from nothing on your character. Banked money remains saved.
Health does not regenerate by itself. When you are hurt, look for the street’s bocadillos, shown in yellow on the map. Recovering before taking another risk is part of getting home with your next bag.
Where can you find the controls while playing?
Open the game’s How to play menu for the full controls and rules. On desktop, H opens the rules and M opens the neighborhood map. On mobile, use the map and menu buttons on screen.
You do not need to memorize every key before starting. Learn a lift, a way out and the route home first. You can return to About the game whenever you want a shorter overview.
